YOUR GUIDE TO ENROLMENT
Our enrolment process is designed to ensure you are enrolled on the right course at the right level for you.
We have written this guide to provide answers to some of the questions you may have and to outline the information you will be expected to provide.

Stages of Enrolment
There are five simple steps to our online enrolment form, they are as follows:
- Answer all questions on our enrolment form
- Upload your results
- Upload your picture
- Upload proof of identity
- Press ‘Submit form’ button
What happens next
1. You will soon be a student
The College will be busy preparing your enrolment and printing your ID card (with the photo you uploaded) and preparing your parking permit if applicable (please be sure to let us know on the online enrolment form that you would like a permit).
2. Get ready to start
Your countdown starts now!
Once you have completed your online enrolment, College will send you instructions on when your course starts, including:
- The time/day you need to arrive
- Your meeting point
3. First day
Your first day at College is where you will get to meet your tutors and classmates and take part in some activities related to your course. You will receive:
- Your Student ID badge & lanyard
- Your timetable
Frequently Asked Questions
Online enrolment can start as soon as you receive your enrolment link.
The steps on how to enrol are listed below.
You will receive an email containing a link to a form where you will be able to complete the following steps.
- Enter your name and email address.
- Upload proof of qualifications including any English and maths qualification you have.
- Enter your employment history.
- Upload of photo of yourself.
- Upload proof of ID.
- Sign the declaration.
The whole process should take less than 20 minutes to complete.

You will have been made aware by our Customer Contact Team when you applied for your course, that depending upon your circumstances and the course you have chosen, you may need to pay a tuition fee.
Once you complete your Enrolment Confirmation, if everything is in order, our Registry and Finance Teams will check your enrolment. Someone from these teams will contact you if they need further information from you and/or to take a payment or confirm you have made a learning loan application.

As part of the online enrolment process you will be asked to upload proof of ID. This should be one of the following:
- UK passport or ID card
- A full birth certificate
- Driver’s licence
- Non-UK passport
- National Insurance Card/Letter
- Debit/Credit card
The photograph you provide will be used for your Student ID badge for the year. It should be a recent photo, a true likeness and fit the following criteria
- Passport photo size
- JPG format and 5mb maximum
- In full colour
- On a plain background
- You should be facing forward and looking straight at the camera
- Your eyes should be open, visible, and free from reflection or glare from glasses (no sunglasses)
- Should not contain other objects, people or animals
- No hats or caps (unless it is for religious or medical reasons)
- No sticking out tongue and/or pulling faces
- No filters/effects applied

The Bedford College Group offers a range of financial support schemes for students aged 19 or over on a full-time study programme on 31 August 2023.
Students aged 19 on the second year of a two-year study programme can apply for the 16-19 bursaries.
Our Adult Support Fund is for course-related costs and is dependent on a household income of £42,500 or less.
We have four bursary schemes:
- Course Cost Bursary
- Discretionary Hardship Bursary
- Travel Bursary
- Tuition, Exams and Professional Fees
If you are aged 20 or over (and studying on an eligible funded course) you can apply for the Childcare Bursary. Launch our Eligibility Checker.
