Child & Family Studies Foundation Degree (FdA) (Full time)This course will provide the knowledge and understanding of the rights of children, young people and their families. It is built on the policy, legislation and current events to provide you with an overview of current practice, child development and welfare.

Entry requirements
Essential: Level 3 qualification and Maths and English GCSE at 4 or above or equivalent.
What qualification will I gain?
Foundation Degree in Child and Family Studies.
How will I be assessed?
Essays, report, presentation, simulation, reflections, exam.
Work experience
Voluntary or paid placement in a relevant setting with children, young people or families. (min 14 hours a week).

Year 1:
- An Introduction to Academic Study
- An Introduction to Working with Children, Young People and Families
- Narratives of Youth
- Law, Society and Controversy
Year 2:
- Researching Practice with Children, Young People and Families
- Management and Applied Experience
- Child Welfare and Interagency Approaches
- Perceptions and Discourse of Youth
